VeganMoFo: The Best Thing About Jury Duty

Sleeping in and making a big breakfast! This is my first time being summoned for jury duty, so please excuse my excitement. In order to serve my country to the best of my abilities, I want to arrive focused and ready to objectively analyze the facts (or just sit and knit till I am released to go). And what better way to prepare myself than eating biscuits with tempeh sausage gravy ala VWAV and coconut milk soy yogurt on the side? I'll let you be the judge of that.

I'm off to the courthouse!

i think if they made this breakfast a perk to jury duty more people would want to do it :)

Your breakfast looks fantastic!

I'm currently sitting on a jury and I wish I could knit in the jury box. There's a whole lot of "hurry up and wait" involved with sitting on a jury. Good luck today!

Yummy!

I got a jury duty summons-thing a few years ago, but was never actually called in. Which I was quite alright with.

Totally admirable--both your attitude and the breakfast! :)

Thanks for the comment you left on my post about my cat no longer being vegan. I really appreciate it.

It's been really tough. I hate having animal products in the house.

By the way, holy crap that looks good!

That's in Vegan With A Vengeance? I have that book! I'll have to take a look. Awesome.

Oh yum! I had the same biscuits and gravy for breakfast, but mine was leftovers from weekend brunch, so I just heated it up and had it at my desk. It's so savory-delicious and filling! Hope jury duty went well.

Mmmm biscuits. I think that new coconut milk yogurt is pretty delicious - it almost seems too delicious to be called "yogurt" ;-).

Way to make the most of your civic duty!

Oh wow! I got out of jury duty the only time I was ever called (I told the judge I could not be impartial because I didn't agree with the law I was going to be deciding a case on...had to do with felon's rights...and I love me some felons!). Anyway, I'd have gone through with jury duty if I'd have had that breakfast though.

I actually have jury duty envy. I've never been called for it, but would really like to be. Sounds great to sit and knit all day!

I had jury duty scheduled for 9/17 but it was cancelled due to Ike. I'm expecting another summons in the mail any day now! Now that I work at 10am, jury duty won't allow me to sleep in and make a tasty breakfast. I'll be lucky if I can make some peanut butter toast!
