Last night I made (as the title suggests) my favorite seitan stir-fry dish - Glazed Seitan Stir-Fry from the January 2007 Vegetarian Times. Lucky for yall the recipe is posted on their website as well! I love the sweetness of the sauce with subtle kick of the red pepper flakes. I served this over Texas-grown brown jasmine rice. Leftovers for lunch today!

Yum, your stir-fry looks delish!
I just discovered your blog through Vegan Vice. Very cool! I read one of your prior posts about the lack of vegan cooking shows, and wanted to let you know that we have started producing an online show. Although it's the same name as our DVD (Everyday Dish), the show is seperate, and the segments air on our website (www.everydaydish.tv), You Tube and I Tunes. All of the recipes are 100% vegan ; )
Thanks for the tip about Everyday Dish TV, I will go check it out!
I just dug up that issue of Vegetarian Times, and your photo looks even better than theirs! Thanks for the tip - I'd like to try your favorite seitan stir-fry...
HI - Nice pic!
I just found your blog recently, and am intrigued, as I am a vegan about to move to TX (DFW area). I'm a little scared how it's going to go, but I do know that there is at least one vegan restaurant in Ft. Worth. Any other thoughts on being vegan in a hardcore meat-eating state?
Thanks!
Sarah
Hi Sarah - Thanks for checking out my blog! As far as vegan living in Texas goes, I think being in a big city (like Houston, DFW, or Austin) really helps. At least you won't be out in the boonies of west Texas! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a thriving vegan community, I know there is one here in Houston. Of course there are tough times, rodeo is a huge tradition here as well as eating barbeque and there are definitely some very close-minded people out there. But of course, you can look at the bright side of things, vegans can make a huge impact in Texas, things can only improve. Good luck and hope you enjoy Texas!
Thanks! I think I'll approach the vegan-in-Texas thing just like I'm approaching Texas overall (I'm SO not from a place like TX): like an adventure! Thanks for the positive vibe, and for being out there "veganizing" the state!!
Sarah
