I have nominated myself for two "memes" of sorts, one because I wish I was taller (more on that one later) and the other because I was bored at work and wanted to have fun with flickr.
This first one I saw on Hannah's lovely blog. Each photo represents something about me. (click on the image to view larger size)
The concept:
a. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.
b. Using only the first page, pick an image.
c. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd's mosaic maker).
The Questions:
1. What is your first name? Amanda
2. What is your favorite food? peanut butter
3. What high school did you go to? Elsik (*edit* our mascot was the ram, which is what came up on flickr)
4. What is your favorite color? green

9. What you want to be when you grow up? a mom
10. What do you love most in life? family
11. One Word to describe you. complicated
12. Your flickr name. vegan noodle
For the second meme, Shellyfish used a unique way of tagging folks by listing five random categories, one which called on those who feel a bit vertically challenged (I'm 5'2.5" that 0.5 " is very important to me). So here goes, this one is a bit long...
What were you doing five years ago?
I was living in Boulder, CO working toward my masters degree in Geology. That pretty much consumed all my time.
What are five things on your to-do list today?
1. return a double stack cupcake holder with a completely stupid design
2. bake a mini chocolate mocha cake
3. suck it up and put some gasoline in my car
4. start preparing to cohost GVT next week
5. menu planning for weekend dinner party
What are five snacks you enjoy?
1. peanut butter on just about anything
2. fresh fruit
3. tortilla chips with mango salsa and guacamole
4. roasted chickpeas
5. chocolate, duh
What are five things you would do if you were a millionare?
1. Go bicoastal and get a place in San Francisco and on the coast of Massachusetts
2. Give a big chunk to Society of PEACE so we could do some serious vegan outreach
3. Use one of my new residences as an animal sanctuary
4. Travel the world
5. Open up a vegan bakery and not have to worry about making a profit
What are your 5 bad habits?
1. starting projects and not finishing them
2. leaving clean clothes in the dryer for days
3. don't read as many books as I should
4. a weakness for kitchen toys
5. letting produce go bad before I use it
Where are five places you have lived?
1. Houston, TX - the suburbs
2. Fort Collins, CO
3. Boulder, CO
4. Babenhausen, Germany and Chester, England (for about 5 months)
5. Houston, TX - the city (way cooler)
What are five jobs you've had?
1. hostess at The Black-Eyed Pea (even in my pregan days I was scared of the food)
2. soils lab and field assistant
3. taught Intro to Geology laboratory
4. writing environmental impact statements for reclaimed mines
5. geologic modeling research and applications
Five people I tag (again borrowing from Shellyfish), if you...
1. bite your nails
2. secretly listen to Britney Spears while driving
3. wish you had a pig as a companion animal
4. consider yourself a scientist
5. ate a cupcake this past weekend
(I just realized that I reavealed five more things about me with this list, except #2, really) Next post will include food, and a prom picture (yikes!).

This post is so fun! I love it. Nice to know our vegan buddies a bit better. Sorry I don't meet any of the tag requirements this week, but darn wish I had had a cupcake this past week. :o) Can't wait to see your prom pic.
Love the Flikr one!! The pictures are so pretty. Funny how it picked an elk to represent your high school even though it said "Elsik."
As for the other one, I'd already decided I'd do this one based on Shellyfish's tag (I've got more than one tattoo), but I also ate cupcakes this weekend and I secretly love Britney Spears...so I really need to do this.
Your little Edward Scissorhands picture is cute!!
If you're vertically challenged, then I'm a midget! I'm 5'1". It doesn't bother me. I wouldn't want to be tall. It's lonely up there.
What a cool post! Haha- it took me forever to understand the picture for your school, but then I realized that "Elsik" sounds sort of like "elk."
I'm even more excited for the next post- prom pictures!!
Hey, at least you'll never have to worry about being taller than your husband, even if you wear tall shoes!
My grandpa always said that if you're tall enough that your feet touch the ground, then you are tall enough... but then my sister, who is 5'1, said, "But when I sit in a chair, my feet DON'T touch the ground!"
Ooh I'm excited for the prom photo :o)
I am only 5'2. I feel your pain and know how every little bit counts! LOL! In fact I thought I was 5'1 for the longest time and then this weekend my husbands family got the measure tape out because we were talking about height and it turns out I am 5'2! Yay for us shorties! :)
LOOOVE these memes!!
I"m 5'3", but I embrace it - I can wear super-high heels and not look (too) silly!! :0D
Those are fun, and since I ate a cupcake this weekend I may play. It's great to see you love your family and want to be a mom - you'll be a great one.
I love your answers! It's so fun to read more about our fellow vegan bloggers! At 5'3" I always felt short, but then after moving to France found I am slightly above average for my generation! Yes! I also loved the picture meme...some day I'll tell you about the time Mr. Depp asked me out... :)
Aww, fun! I am the worst at doing memes. I love the Edward Scissorhands Blythe doll! I actually collect Blythe dolls & that's one of my favorite movies.
Great meme! So cool that you co-host that radio show. Oh, and can I work at your vegan bakery?? ;)
I love Johnny Depp too!
This post is wonderful, thank you for sharing! I love the beautiful flickr photos!
To add to the rest of the things we have in common, I'm the exact same height! Do you do as I do and tell people you're 5' 3" but then cop to actually being 5' 2"? I always try to stick to the 5' 3" fantasy, but then never seem to be able to stick with the white lie.
Thanks for the meme. As with the rest of the folks here, I always love getting to learn more about you. Even if you don't become a millionaire, I see a vegan bakery in your future. Now, only if we knew some venture capitalists!
fun, fun, fun!
It was so fun reading these :) I will get around to posting the second meme eventually, since I think 4 out of 5 tags describe me!!
CONGRATS on your Veg Bloggy award, it is well deserved - you rock!
These visual memes are so much fun, and an interesting way to get to know our fellow bloggers, too! :)
